Portiuncula University Hospital is inviting parents and their families who have experienced bereavement through the death of a child or who have lost a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or shortly after birth to a service of remembrance, which will take place at the hospital chapel on Monday February 4 at 7.30pm.

Fianna Fáil TD for Roscommon/Galway Eugene Murphy said an over reliance on acute hospital settings is resulting in unnecessary long waiting periods for many elderly people in A&E departments throughout the country and is evidence of a health system unfit for purpose.
